Big Data and Data Science POR presented by Ganesh Raju. (attached below) This includes update on curent 6 week sprint.
Larry: What is the reference platform being used for testing.
Ganesh:
Our BigTop CI runs in upstream across all the distributions (Debian, Centos, etc).
Larry : What is the hw configuration? Single system or large cluster? Ganesh: For BigTop we have donated a few cloud instances.
Larry: Are there other customer deployments? Ganesh:
University of Michigan and Wikimedia are running production deployments of this. Those are the ones we mostly
hear of.
Larry: What's keeping Arm support from happening
at the start for Apache foundation? Ganesh: It’s been challenging to have individual projects prioritize adding Arm support. We’ve gone project by project adding Arm support one at a time to each project. Now we are talking with the Apache infrastructure team and they now have a pool of hardware available. Situation has changed (improved) in the last 1.5 years with additional cloud access.

Not a current project, but has been requested. Open floor to discuss.
Larry: OpenBMC is getting a lot more industry traction. For example: AMI is now being an active participatnt and adding it to its overall offerrings.
