Agenda & Meeting Notes

  • Previous meeting minutes

  • LBI-28  OCI "HW Accelerator" Extensions  (Wesley Skeffington)

    • Discussion notes:

      • Andrew:  Asking to get a wider group working on this with the wider OCI community.  He'd like a community supported universal library that all can  use (~8:31)

      • KangKang:  Suggest we look at KubeEdge (shared with LEDGE team)

      • Yan:  Needs to apply to all hypervisors

        • Wes:  Xen is the current Xilinx implementation vehicle, but this is to apply to all hypervisors.

      • Ben:  move this to a Team to bring in other people to work through the OCI specification changes.   Focus on implementations afterwards.

      • Peter Liu:  For container for HPC, Singularity is the most popular one or the ONLY one. I would recommend communicating/collaborating with Singularity, rather than try a new one for HPC container

    • Next Steps: Form a Team for the spec changes.

  • LBI-27 AI on Servers (Paul Isaacs)

    • Ben:  There is still a lot of gaps in the Arm ecosystem.  There is not an optimize SVE glibc.  Lots of algorithms that don't ...He has list of things.

    • Doesn't think there is enough

    • Andrew:

    • Ben: SVE2 is more directly  applicable to AI.

    • Next action:  Form Team to identify work
