Summary

Details and rationale for closing the project

[a] Success metrics

A majority of the open source cloud infrastructure projects run on Arm64 with good performance.

* OpenStack on Arm64 supports almost all the key components:

- Nova, Compute service
- Neutron, network service
- Cinder, block storage service
- Swift, Object storage service
- Glance, Image service
- Keystone, identity service
- Ironic, Bare metal service

* Kubernetes
- Kubernetes Deployment: Kubespray
- Magnum, OpenStack Kubernetes service support on Arm64

* Ceph

- Distributed storage framework, the effort and scope for Ceph has been moved to the STOR project.

In short, Kubernetes and OpenStack work are considered complete and no longer in scope for future work.

[b] Other information

* Linaro Developer Cloud was established in Cambridge (moved from London) and has been running 24/7 for four years. We're no longer granting access to externals.

* The Linaro Cloud will be internal only for the development and usage of some CI projects.
* Linaro Developer Cloud Kubernetes Service went through the CNCF certified Kubernetes Service program.

[c] Work that will be transferred

Linaro Cloud will be for internal use only. The external service will be closed down within 6 months. The OpenStack CI environment will be upgraded and maintained by Kevin's team / Vertical Technologies.
