  • etcd maintainership

    • It seems Geoff Levand was the last maintainer. Gyuho Lee tried to enable the support for Arm64 as well.

    • Summary of Kevin Zhao investigation on what is needed to promote etcd to stable support in the community:

      • Validate the etc all test suites pass on Arm64 (including integration test, E2E test, Functional and stress tests).

      • Set up the integration and end-to-end tests by GitHub action for Tier-2 support.

      • Set up the Functional and stress tests by GitHub action for Tier-1 support.

      • Hardware requirements:

        • Tests would consume, on average, 150 hours per week (considering time spent to run tests on x86 and average amount of pull requests per week).

        • We would need at least 2 powerful VMs to run this CI continuously.
