• CCA Software Enablement (Sanjay Alladwar, Arm)

  • Brief overview of the CCA feature set and timeline roadmap.

• Membership updates

  • As of end of last year, Red Hat is not a member of the Data Center Group anymore.

• Project updates

  • Deploy CCA on Arm Platforms (DCAP)

    • Updates since last meeting:

      • Veraison:

        • Added HTTPS support.

        • Added support for the CCAToken format proposed to IETF as a standard.

        • Developed a minimal keybroker demo.

      • TrustedFirmware-A:

        • Upstreamed RME support for SBSA reference board.

      • Kata containers:

        • Fixed an issue that was causing Kata with QEMU to fail when running Arm guests (even for non-confidential guests).

      • CI:

        • Started an investigation on what it would take to have a proper CI infrastructure for the whole CCA stack we are developing.

    • Next tasks:

      • Add support for RME 1.1 new features in the CCA software stack:

        • Device assignment.

        • Memory Encryption.

        • Planes.

      • Standards:

        • Continue the work on CCA Token standardisation.

      •  Veraison:

        • Add async support for rust-apiclient.

        • Integrate Veraison with Confidential Containers (CoCo) CCA native verifier.

      • Kata containers:

        • Fix an issue where Kata with QEMU fails to launch an Arm guest (even non-confidential guests) with Kata Runtime-rs.

        • Fix an issue in which QEMU fails to build in Kata-deploy.

        • Make sure Kata-deploy works for Arm CCA.

      •  CI:

        • Build a CI infrastructure for the whole CCA stack we are developing in the upcoming months.

  • Performance Optimization (PO)

    • Updates since last meeting:

      • Job position to backfill previous engineer is open here.

  • System Ready Compliant Platform Collaboration (SRCPC)

    • Updates since last meeting:

      • Upstreamed RME support for SBSA reference board  in TrustedFirmware-A and EDK2.

    • Next tasks:

      • Discussing internally how to backfill previous Red Hat assignee that was working on this project.

  • Big Data and Data Science (BDDS)

    • Updates since last meeting:

      • Multiple updates on Bigtop Manager, in preparation for the 1.0 release scheduled for March.

    • Next tasks:

      • Release Bigtop Manager 1.0.0.

      • Add support for Gluten and Velox on Arm64 and openEuler, making sure we also enable any performance optimizations on these projects.

  • Enhanced Software-Define-Storage on Arm Server (STOR)

    • Updates since last meeting:

      • Finished the performance work on Ceph SPDK.

      • Fixed an issue where the multi-rbd performance was not scaling up with Ceph SPDK..

    • Next tasks:

      • JuiceFS on Arm64 and openEuler enablement.

• Events

  • Chiplet Summit: 21-23 January, 2025, Santa Clara, CA, USA.

    • Kangkang attended the conference and mentioned that Arm presented their Chiplet System Architecture. The management of the chiplets is being done through an AMI firmware. There is no open source implementation for that yet, and this might be an interesting area for further investigation by this group in the future.

  • FOSDEM: 1-2 February, 2025, Bruxelles, Belgium

    • Attestation devroom

      • Thomas Fossati is co-hosting it.

    • Confidential Computing devroom

      • Multiple submissions accepted: Mathieu Poirier (Linaro), Jean-Phillippe Brucker (Arm), Paul Howard (Arm).

    • Linaro is planning to attend and present progress on our work there.

  • Open Confidential Computing Conference (OC3): 27 March, 2025, hybrid from Berlin, Germany

    • Thomas Fossati (Linaro) is in the program committee.

    • We are working on a joint proposal with Arm for a presentation there, around our remote attestation work.

  • KubeCon Europe: 1-4 April, 2025, London, UK

    • Linaro submitted a presentation proposal around the work we are doing to support Kata Containers and Confidential Containers with CCA, including the remote attestation part.

  • OCP EMEA Regional Summit: 29-30 April, 2025, Dublin, Ireland
