Minutes

  • Project Updates

    • Deploy CCA on Arm Platforms (DCAP)

      • Updates since last meeting:

        • Kata Containers

          • Fixed an issue with Istio: IPv6 test was failing on Arm64 CI.

        • Standards

          • CoSERV (endorsement API proposal) has been accepted as a RATS working group at IETF.

      • Next tasks:

        • Device Assignment

          • Continue the work to support additional features as they become available from Arm in TrustedFirmware and Linux.

        • Kata Containers

          • Produce proper documentation and scripts to run Kata containers with RME support.

          • Set up Kata Arm64 runtime-rs testing job.

          • Add k0s support on RME-enabled host on Kata-deploy in Kata Containers CI.

        • Veraison

          • Add capability to process an extended CCA attestation token.

        • Standards

          • Continue the work on the Attested TLS and CoSERV working groups.

          • Continue the work on CCA token standardization.

          • Continue the work on the CCA token extension for device assignment.

    • Performance Optimization (PO)

      • Updates since last meeting:

        • OpenSSL

          • Poly1305: Vector Lenght Agnostic (VLA) implementation patch submitted and awaiting review.

          • SM4: investigated why fallback to Neon or Neon/AESE implementation was not happening if SM4 CE is not implemented (Graviton4). This has been enabled before by Huawei, but only enabled for a few architectures (Neoverse N1/V1 and some Snapdragon). This has now been fixed and performance tested in a downstream branch. While ECB and CTR block cipher modes are indeed faster with the Neon/Neon+AESE implementation than they are with the fallback C implementation, CBC mode, however, is significantly slower.

      • Next tasks:

        • SM4: investigate why SM4-CBC with Neon/Neon+AESE is slower than the C implementation.

        • OpenSSL Camellia: continue working on assembly implementation; use any help available from FutureWei intern.

    • Big Data & Data Science (BDDS)

      • Updates since last meeting:

        • Bigtop 3.5 has been released.

        • Enabled Gluten Arm64 CI.

        • Apache Doris: performance optimization patches accepted.

      • Next tasks:

        • Doris:

          • Continue work to porto AVX2 intrinsics to SVE.

          • Support Arm64 CI.

        • Gluten: continue maintenance work.

        • Bigtop Manager: work on 1.1.0 release.

    • Enhanced Software-Defined-Storage on Arm Servers (STOR)

      • Updates since last meeting:

        • Finished investigation and analysis of the performance gaps between x86 and Arm of various use cases on JuiceFS.

      • Next tasks:

        • JuiceFS: continue working on performance optimization.

        • Lustre: Arm64 CI maintenance.

        • Key-Value Cache: performance investigation.
