Project Updates
Deploy CCA on Arm Platforms (DCAP)
Updates since last meeting:
Memory Encryption Contexts (MEC) basic support accepted upstream for QEMU 10.2.
Kata containers
RME support upstreamed for runtime-go (based on cca/v8 source tree).
RME support included in kata-deploy: automatic build and deploy of Kata containers with RME available now.
runtime-rs: fixed issues. Capable to boot to Realm, but still not functional.
Next tasks:
MEC: Working on actual (fake) encryption of the memory contexts.
Device Assignment
Work on the proper integration between SPDM/TDISP and QEMU.
Continue the work to support all SMMU features need for DA on QEMU.
Kata containers
Finish enablement of RME support on runtime-rs.
Produce proper documentation and scripts to run Kata containers with RME support.
Add k0s support on RME-enabled host on kata-deploy in Kata containers CI.
Veraison
Add capability to process an extended CCA attestation token.
Standards
Continue the work on the Attested TLS and CoSERV working groups.
Continue the work on CCA token standardization.
Continue the work on the CCA token extension for device assignment.
Performance Optimization (PO)
Updates since last meeting:
OpenSSL
SM4: investigated why SM4-CBC with Neon/Neon+AESE is slower than the C implementation; as expected, no areas for improvement.
Camellia: Port of byte-sliced (suitable for parallel block cipher modes) Camellia encryption implementation from C-intrinsics to Armv8 (Neon+AESE) close to completion (so far standalone), promising a several-fold speed-up over the plain C implementation, currently available in OpenSSL.
Next tasks:
OpenSSL Camellia: continue the porting to Armv8 Neon+AESE.
Big Data & Data Science (BDDS)
Updates since last meeting:
Apache Doris:
Investigated some optimization opportunities with SVE, but some code will only have better performance when SVE2 is used, so keeping the Neon implementation for now.
Implemented Neon code to optimize block bloom filter
Apache Gluten
Basic CI on Arm64 set up.
Bigtop Manager:
1.1 features development finished.
Working on bug fixes now.
Release vote coming by the end of the month.
Next tasks:
Apache Doris: continue work on performance optimization.
Bigtop Manager: release 1.1 version.
Enhanced Software-Defined-Storage on Arm Servers (STOR)
Updates since last meeting:
JuiceFS: released a performance tuning guide document.
Next tasks:
JuiceFS: continue working on performance optimization.
Lustre: Arm64 CI maintenance.
Key-Value Cache: performance investigation.

Next meetings
At this time of the year we are usually discussing priorities for next year.
Next meeting would be on Thanksgiving in the USA. I am trying to get someone from Arm to talk about live migration on RME spec either the week before or after Thanksgiving. This will probably be our last meeting in the current format.
I will provide status update through e-mail in late December.
