Project Orko: Empowering SOAFEE with VirtIO Magic

Introduction

Project Orko is enabling Virtualisation and VirtIO for the Trusted Reference Stack (TRS) and SOAFEE workloads. It builds on the pathfinding work of https://linaro.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/STR and will reuse components from that project as well as develop additional backends. The broad aims are to:

  • Expand rust-vmm’s support for Xen (and other hypervisors)

  • Launch VM’s with VirtIO backend

  • De-privilege VirtIO backends as much as possible

  • Run SOAFEE container workloads isolated in those VMs
