• AJB: intro and discussion

• MP: Maybe we should aim at the basic implementation first

• MH: whos using the camera

• SR: What does it it mean in the context of virtualization

  • do multiple VMs consume the cameras?

  • AJB: it’s hard to think of but maybe for camera we can see use cases where the data is classified by the IP or a seperate VM process parallel to the main system

  • SS: assuming clients using V4L - can you use that?

    • AJB: multiple clients consuming at userspace?

    • SS: no VM consume V4L then streaming to following guests

    • AB: in a virtio interface we would be nessecity have to limit the subset

    • AB: would this be consume via V4L and re-injected

    • SS: showing a kernel device on the FE would be more complex

    • LG: what is the requirement we are trying to solve - you could just stream through the network

    • conversation about the benefits about network streams vs real HW

    • SS: network stream can become even more complex

    • MP: for the BP automotive program hitting network issues

    • SS: the latency stuff?

    • SS: maybe one guest won’t use the V4L interface

    • SS: how is it going to behave on the network - optimised for sending data out vs VM-to-VM

    • AJB: the requirements on networking very at odds between automotive and mobile

• MP: we should start simple and explore those cases
