Upstream algorithm patches to the Kernel

Description

Background: The encryption/decryption performance in the user space is typically superior to that in the kernel.

The LT aims to advocate for this proposition within the kernel community and gather valuable feedback.

Deliverables:

  1. Proposal Document:

    • Overview: Clearly articulate the advantages of moving encryption/decryption operations to user space.

    • Technical Details: Provide in-depth technical insights supporting the proposal.

    • Performance Metrics: Include relevant benchmarks and performance comparisons.

  2. Communication Plan:

    • Communicate with kernel maintainers on the benefits of both performance and maintenance.

    • Submit patches to kernel maintainers.

    • Communicate OpenSSL maintainers on software License.

  3. Feedback Collection:

    • Record the feedback in Jira.
