Power Management Tests in FWTS

FWTS consists of the following tests related to Power management :-
Suspend/Resume(S3) tests | The S3 test uses the pm-utils pm-suspend command to initiate the suspend. By default the test will suspend the machine and 30 seconds later will use the ACPI wakealarm to automatically resume. | |

S3 Power tests | This test roughly determines how much power has been used by a laptop or netbook during suspend.The tests requires the user to unplug the machine from mains power and then it suspends the machine for a default of 10 minutes and then resumes and estimates how long the machine could stay suspended for. | |
Hibernate/Resume(S4) tests | This test exercises hibernate/resume (S3). The S4 test uses the pm-utils pm-hibernate command to initiate the suspend. By default the test will hibernate the machine and 90 seconds later will use the ACPI wakealarm to automatically resume. |
In addition(to other ACPI tests),there are certain batch and interactive tests which cover aspects of power such as :-

Sleep button device test
Interactive ac_adapter power test
Battery tests
