DUB24 - November Employee Meeting

Linaro Employee Meeting will take place at the Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin starting at 9.00am on Wednesday 6 November and finishing at 3.00pm on Friday 8 November 2024.

Linaro Employee Meeting checklist: 

• Visa: Find out if you need a visa to travel to Ireland here and process any necessary paperwork

• Travel: Once you've sorted your visa if required, please get your Manager's approval and book your flights through A&G Travel (guidelines can be found below) or Egencia. 

• Accommodation: Once you have your flight dates please register and request your hotel room through KITE (guidelines and pricing for additional occupancy can be found below) 

Visa and Business Invitation Letter info

Find out if you need a visa to travel to Ireland here. All employees will have a business invitation letter uploaded in the coming weeks in IRIS under the "My Documents" tab. Those who require a visa already have a visa letter uploaded as well. Please look this information over carefully and email hr@linaro.org with any corrections. 

Please complete required visa paperwork before booking any travel. 

Travel 

Once you have sorted any necessary visa paperwork, please get your manager's approval and book your travel through A&G Travel.

Again, you should follow the guidelines: Tuesday 5th November 2024 through to Friday 8 November 2024 unless you are required to attend meetings or if a Saturday night stopover reduces the costs of flights by more than the extra nights stay (€209 per night).

For Linaro Inc Employees (USA and Canada)

Accommodation

Linaro will cover the cost of a standard room for 3 nights for a check-in on Tuesday 5th November 2024 through to a check-out Friday 8 November 2024 . Any requests for longer stay must be pre approved by your manager and will only be accepted if you are required to attend meetings or if an extra night stopover on either end reduces the costs of flights by more than the extra nights stay. 

Pricing is stated below:

• Single Occupancy Room: €209

• Double occupancy is included

Should you choose to bring a guest, you will be charged the difference for additional occupancy upon check-in at the hotel.

Call for Proposals

At the employee meeting in Dublin there will be the opportunity to host mini conferences and/or present lightning talks. To submit a proposal or learn more about what we are looking for in a proposal, head over to KITE:

Mini conferences will be co-located with the Linaro Partner Meeting: Monday 4 - Tuesday 5 November 2024.

Lightning talks will take place throughout the week of the Employee Meeting: Wednesday 6, Thursday 7, Friday 8 November 2024.

Dates to remember:

• Deadline to submit a proposal for a mini-conference: Friday 30 August 2024

• Deadline to submit a proposal for a lightning talk: Friday 4 October 2024

You will be notified as to whether your mini conference has been accepted by Tuesday 11 September 2024.

Requesting Hardware for Sprints room 

All hardware required for the November Employee meeting must be requested by the deadline of 15 September 2024. Upon review, only hardware requested ahead of that deadline will be shipped to the venue in Dublin and loaned out.

Booking Meeting Rooms

Please book your meeting through Kite. This feature will be availaible later.

There are 4 meeting rooms available for this week as well as a large room with round tables like the Linaro Connect hacking room.
