2023-03 Update

Highlights

• The rpmsg support for AMD XIlinx zynqmp R5 cores is in rproc-next and therefore is expected to be in kernel v6.4

• ZCU102 LAVA integration is underway and is expected to complete by Mid-April.

• We have had two OpenAMP Virtio work group meetings and are forming a plan of attack for the virtio support in the open-amp library.

• In the cross-rtos project we have done integration and test of Zephyr running on cortex-A53

  • It is running in generic QEMU

  • It is running in Xilinx ZCU102 QEMU emulation

  • It is running with OpenAMP 6.x staging kernel

• We have reproduced Wind Rivers Zephyr work on virtio-mmio

  • Classic virtio-mmio using QEMU provided net, rng, and console devices

  • hypervisor-less mode R5 demo build

Issues/Changes

• The Jailhouse stuff is not yet complete. We do NOT want to spend more than a couple more days on this. Future work will focus on Xen.

• The 2023 roadmap is not yet defined

Plans

• Refresh the OpenAMP demo containers

Stretch Goals

• Build virtio-exp branches of openamp libs, zephyr, and kvmtool in ci-builds

• Submit OpenAMP CI jobs to LAVA lab (STM32MP157x-dk2 & KV260)
