Agenda

Some topics needs to be discussed from Jonathan:

  1. IORT: with new spec published, I believe Shameer should be able to

 bring the RMR work to completion. We can have a quick chat about this.

2. Virt CPU hotplug: we should split the work - ie who is preparing and posting kernel patches ?

  Salil is currently on leave but we can talk about the general approach /

division of labor. Jonathan forwarded port of the QEMU side of things before Xmas but got distracted
so haven't tested it yet, and wants to sync.

3. One other topic request from us is for any updates on MPAM plan and
if there is anything we can do to assist on that.

4. Lorenzo had some success with the DOE/SPDM stuff.

I've been head down in getting upstreamable CXL/qemu support sorted
out so not looked at that stuff yet this year, needs to sync.

  • RMR progress.

    ACPICA / IORT spec issue due to lack of backwards compatibility.  AI (LP) to investigate.
    Shameer question on attributes / types.  Resolve on mailing list as Robin Murphy couldn’t make call. AI(SK)

  • MPAM progress

    James Morse provided update. 
    AI (JM – already planned): shortly post x86 rework next chunk.  Move to counting in bytes.
    AI (Huawei) Review the x86 changes.
    Complete trees on kernel.org.  ACPI tables / DT bindings etc.  Only stuff that aligns with current RES ctrl.
    AI (Huawei) Review git tree via the mailing list even though not posted.

  • vCPU HP progress

    ACPI spec change accepted so all blockers resolved.

Huawei to take bulk of work on QEMU side
ARM to drive kernel side of things.
Sync on the Linaro open discussions list.
Changes from previous version likely to be minor.

  • SPDM

DOE status.  Need to resolve open question of auxiliary bus vs library.  
AI (JC) Push for resolution on list. 
PCI changes to support DOE not totally trivial via auxiliary bus.
AI (LP): A few bugs etc found by Lorenzo, feedback on list (no rush).
Strong interest from both Huawei and Arm in driving the DOE stuff forwards.

openSPDM Github access can be arranged for those who wish to give specification feedback (where company has appropriate standards body / DMTF membership) allowing direct filing of questions in their issue tracker.
