LEG SC Vote Summary DPDK

Summary

LEG Representatives,

Linaro Enterprise Group proposes that the revised DPDK proposal is approved. Proposal document attached.  To note, in principle we will review the DPDK effort as we form the Networking SIG in LEG.

The LEG DPDK effort will:
-  Ensure functional parity with x86 by leveraging the DPDK Test Suite (DTS). All test cases
which pass on x86 but fail on ARM64 will be addressed (fixed). No effort will be made to
address test cases which are currently not passing on x86.
-  Ensure ongoing stability and prevent regressions of DTS test cases on ARM by setting up a
Continuous Integration testbed. This CI will be triggered by and report results back to
patchwork upstream DPDK CI. (Note that support for DPDK CI within Linaro should be
reviewed periodically (likely quarterly) and maintained only until a viable open upstream CI
alternative is available).

-  Monitor efforts to cleanup and improve the DTS and its automation currently underway by the
DPDK community/University of New Hampshire Interoperability Lab to prevent duplication of
efforts.

-  Continued presence on upstream meetings/development to ensure ARM64 compliance.

Vote 'yes' to agree, 'no' to disagree or 'abstain' to abstain. Missing votes will be treated as abstentions.  Voting closes on Friday, 10th of May 2018 (midnight UK GMT).

You can review the meeting minutes for the SC call on the LEG SC portal.
