GCC

PR by Tarek merged. Considered completed but needs a gap analysis for the next step.

Tried using gcc with the NXP pack - but the gcc files are missing. Can you help us to do the work? Have virtual target packs but have the same problem.

In favour of both solutions to be able to play with the solutions. Will ultimately have to deal with the IT people on what to do with responsibility/liability.

#114 API, Components and Interfaces

What kind of API? There are some elements that can be stated publicly. Switching to other APIs is out of scope as existing customers depend on the current APIs offered. Should use the API element to describe dependencies. It already exists in the CMSIS spec.

Aim to implement the infrastructure in the tool to combine layers in an intelligent layer. Layers could be prefixed with cmsis_ or st_ . Initially provide the tool infrastructure and explore how it works. Then decide how we want to expose common interfaces like UART, ethernet.

Have examples like MQTT interfaces. No semantics - just a string.
